Some time ago I got permission to see the interior of abandoned synagogue in Levice- small town in south of Slovakia, which was under reconstruction right then and before modification to completely different kind of building, I mean buildingof different functionality, not sacred at all. This experience inspired me to work with fragments of the real plaster used for walls of the building which I collected and I was working with them as they were the most precious stones.I perceive this authentic material as some kind of witness of dramatic storiesin history, including the situation when victims of fascism in Levice were roundedup and locked inside of this synagogue the night before deportation.
